From a walk I took on a day where I had some time to kill. So I had brought my R6 and the Lensbaby Edge 50. It is always a fun Lens to use when you are just out exploring.

Come, have a drink
A picture from the backlog. I took this back in 2023 at Lindholm Vikingemarked. I was strolling past the many tents that the participants had, to show off merchandise or just how life as a viking was back in the days. On of the tents had this little cozy corner with a table, a couple of benches with furs and these wooden goblets.
Spooked
A Roe Deer (Capreolus capreolus) that I spotted on one of my trips to Lille Vildmose.
It didn’t seem to mind that I was nearby, but suddenly something behind me to the right spooked it, and it ran off.

Buzzing the tower
A big seagull which seemed to have seen a bit of action, made a low pass over me in the evening sun. Always exciting, as seagulls can be quite territorial at times and have a tendency to “jettison the cargo” when flying over you. This one kept the bomb bay closed though 🙂

This was a great way to take my RF 70-200mm f/4 out for a spin.
Beach Houses
On the beach in Blokhus, Denmark you can find this long line of small beach houses.
The beach houses are so popular that you have to pay an annual fee of 160 DKK (~25 USD) just to get on the waiting list. In average, only one house is sold every year, and with more than 400 people on the list you’ll have to wait more than 400 years to get one.
Young Hare
A hare (Lepus europaeus) gave birth to three kittens and started raising them on our quit dead end street. After a few weeks only two came when the mother showed up late in the evening, as it were getting dark and unfortunately I found the third on a nearby road, hit by a car. The other two kittens grew and one morning the kitten here were sitting right outside my kitchen window, foraging on the juicy uncut grass.
So.. I had to sneak out and get a few shots of the little one. It was very patient with me and continued to come back every morning for a few days more.
Drinks on me

Berries
I just bought the RF 20-700mm F/4L. I were considering the f/2.8 version, but I already have a Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 VC G2.
But I have noticed that I mostly use that lens stopped down to f/3.5 or f/4 anyways, so considering that the RF f/4 was much lighter and cost a lot less, it seemed to fit my needs better and I finally went for that version.
It is very light, focuses very fast on both my R6 and R7 and as you can see, the DOF is still very nice

Big boy!
Earlier this year I was lucky enough to drive by the protected nature habitat Tofte Skov, which is only available to the public on a few guided bus tours every year.
This day, as I drove past, a group of 8-10 European Wisents were grassing just inside the fence, so obviously I had to throw the car to the side of the road, get my camera and see if I could get a few pictures of the herd.
I was lucky to have about 30 minutes with the herd before they moved into the closed area and out of sight.

I could be wrong, but I got the impression that this little dinghy “Asterix” was some kind of delivery guy service, as I saw it sailing back and forth in the canals in Amsterdam.

From last years trip to London where we also went to see The Madam Tussaud Museum, which was much more fun that I had expected it to be. The Star Wars section was really cool.

Cherry Tree Bloom
Every spring, for about a week, I have two mountain cherry trees in my garden that bloom and look amazing. Then they loose all the flowers and are “just” two compact trees for the rest of the year. But it always cheer me up and reminds me that spring is here, when I see the cherry trees bloom.
Red Squirrel
The Red Squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris) is quite common in Denmark. They often raid bird feeders and seems to be a bit more temperamental than the Grey Squirrels, at least from my experience. We also have Black Squirrels in Denmark, but I have only seen one in the wild once and never taken a picture of one.

Prevost’s Squirrel
This is a picture from the backlog. I took it 3½ years ago in Randers Regnskov, but it just never seemed to be “the picture I want to post this week”.
Well.. now was the time. A pretty Prevost’s squirrel (Callosciurus prevostii rafflesi) enjoying a little snack.
Guardian of the Galaxy
This little toy robot was watching out through a scuttle of a boat in one of the many beautiful canals in Amsterdam.
My imagination instantly ran with the idea of a guardian robot watching the Galaxy from a giant window in his space ship.
..I know.. I should be too old for this 🙂

Still life study part I
I actually bought the RF 50mm f/1.8 IS more than a year ago, yet this is the first photo I have posted here, taken with this lens. This is actually really a shame, as it is an awesome little lens, and a major improvement to the old EF 50mm f/1.8 II, which I also have.Focuses fast an precise, have great IS, but on the downside, it also have STM focusing motor, which I ain’t to impressed about in general.
For this picture I have gone with a bit of still life, combined with an added texture, just to try something a bit different from what I usually do.
European Goldfinch
this beautiful goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis) visited my garden last summer together with a buddy. They’re usually quite shy, but this morning they didn’t seem to mind me being around. I had a good 5 minutes close to them before they decided to move along.

Baby Alpaca
I visited Alpacas of Fredly last summer. Alpacas are cute looking animals by the younglings.. so.very.cute.
There is a nice soothing and relaxing mood surrounding these animals. They do things at their own pace and you insantly start to relax when you visit them.
