Azure Damselfly

(Coenagrion puella)
Found this 3.5 cm long beast sitting on a branch. It kept bashing around with its tail, so a bit of motion blur can be seen there.

Taken with my EOS 60D with 55-250mm lens attached.

Post processed in DPP, Paint Shop Pro X5, Topaz DeNoise 5, Topaz Clarity and Topaz Detail 3.

Black-tailed Skimmer

Next shot in my mini-set of insects is this beautiful Black-tailed Skimmer (Orthetrum cancellatum) I found sitting on the stump of a cut down tree.
From what I have been able to figure out, it is a full grown male.

The image was taken with an EOS 60D with 55-250mm lens.
Post processing done in DPP, Paint Shop Pro X5,
Topaz DeNoise 5, Topaz Clarity and Topaz Detail 3.

Bombus hortorum

I wandered off into a meadow yesterday, looking for something that would make a great photo opportunity. The place was crawling with insects, so I decided to spend the day trying to take pictures of their little world. This is the first shot in a set of four. The rest will follow during the next weeks.

Taken with my EOS 60D and 55-250mm lens.
