Next shot in my mini-set of insects is this beautiful Black-tailed Skimmer (Orthetrum cancellatum) I found sitting on the stump of a cut down tree.
From what I have been able to figure out, it is a full grown male.
The image was taken with an EOS 60D with 55-250mm lens.
