Asterix

I could be wrong, but I got the impression that this little dinghy “Asterix” was some kind of delivery guy service, as I saw it sailing back and forth in the canals in Amsterdam.

Yoda

From last years trip to London where we also went to see The Madam Tussaud Museum, which was much more fun that I had expected it to be. The Star Wars section was really cool.

Cherry Tree Bloom

Every spring, for about a week, I have two mountain cherry trees in my garden that bloom and look amazing. Then they loose all the flowers and are “just” two compact trees for the rest of the year. But it always cheer me up and reminds me that spring is here, when I see the cherry trees bloom.

Red Squirrel

The Red Squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris) is quite common in Denmark. They often raid bird feeders and seems to be a bit more temperamental than the Grey Squirrels, at least from my experience. We also have Black Squirrels in Denmark, but I have only seen one in the wild once and never taken a picture of one.

Prevost’s Squirrel

This is a picture from the backlog. I took it 3½ years ago in Randers Regnskov, but it just never seemed to be “the picture I want to post this week”.
Well.. now was the time. A pretty Prevost’s squirrel (Callosciurus prevostii rafflesi) enjoying a little snack.

Still life study part I

I actually bought the RF 50mm f/1.8 IS more than a year ago, yet this is the first photo I have posted here, taken with this lens. This is actually really a shame, as it is an awesome little lens, and a major improvement to the old EF 50mm f/1.8 II, which I also have.Focuses fast an precise, have great IS, but on the downside, it also have STM focusing motor, which I ain’t to impressed about in general.
For this picture I have gone with a bit of still life, combined with an added texture, just to try something a bit different from what I usually do.

European Goldfinch

this beautiful goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis) visited my garden last summer together with a buddy. They’re usually quite shy, but this morning they didn’t seem to mind me being around. I had a good 5 minutes close to them before they decided to move along.

Llama

I felt I had to work fast when I took this picture. All the time it looked like the llama (and his buddies out of picture) were preparing a spitball attack on me. Didn’t happen though 🙂

Taken in Aalborg zoo with my favorite combination for zoo photography: the R7 and the Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 G2

The Sunflower Girl

One of the many amazing costumes on display at Aalborg International Carnival Parade 2024. Unfortunately it seems like this might have been the last Parade, at least in the current form.

I sure hope the City Council in Aalborg finds a way to make a new Carnival Parade reality in 2025 as well.

X-Mas 2024

I have been using the EF 24-105mm L as my goto lens for years, but after my recent trip to London I decided that even though it was an amazing lens, it was time to replace it with the RF equivalent. For some reason I always end up buying new lenses when it is most dark outside..
Anyways, this is the first photo I post, taken with the new lens and it seems to be just as amazing as the EF version. The design is sleek and modern, and I don’t need the EF-RF adapter anymore. Only downside is that the material used on the RF version has a more plastic-y finish. Still I am sure it is going to serve me well.

Merry Christmas to each an everyone out there.

Portrait of a Moose

When traveling around in Lille Vildmose you will see sign telling you to keep a safe distance of 30meters from the moose as they are wild animals and could potentially do harm. I always respect that (and the animals), also because if some day some fool gets hurt by a moose, it will be the moose who pays the price. Or access to these amazing animals would be restricted.
..but then one day, as I was sitting in my car scouting for anything of interest, this moose came out of the reeds and up the ditch, less than 2 meters from my car.. the 100mm end of the 100-500mm lens was almost too much 🙂

The Lensbaby Edge 50 in action on a spontaneous photowalk in Aalborg. Usually I prefer the combination of the Edge 50 and monochrome photos, but for this picture I prefer the color version.

Lifeguard

I visited Blokhus on a typical danish summer day (meaning overcast with showers) and came across this RIB belonging to the lifeguards. I guess they had an easy day in the office, as I only saw 4-5 people who went out to swim in the 17°C water.

Needlemouse Pt. 2

Sometimes we have these cute little hedgehogs visiting our garden. They play it safe and roll up in a spikey ball when they notice you, but if you lie still on the ground with the camera ready and make no noise, they will soon move on and you can get a great picture of them.

Taken with my R6 at a wooping 25.600 ISO and then cleaned up using Lightroom Denoise.
